1. Our Community Commitment
At CYALE, we believe in creating a supportive, inclusive, and empowering community for all our members. These responsibilities outline the expectations and commitments we ask from everyone who participates in our programs and activities.
By joining CYALE, you become part of a community dedicated to youth empowerment, leadership development, and positive change in Abuesi and beyond.

3. Program Participant Responsibilities
Attendance and Punctuality
- Attend all scheduled program sessions on time
- Notify program organizers in advance if unable to attend
- Respect the time and commitment of fellow participants and facilitators
Active Participation
- Engage actively in discussions, activities, and projects
- Contribute constructively to group and collaborative activities
- Share ideas and experiences that benefit the learning community
Learning Commitment
- Come prepared for sessions with required materials
- Apply learned skills in practical settings
- Seek help and clarification when needed
- Support fellow participants in their learning journey
4. Volunteer Responsibilities
Professional Conduct
- Maintain professional boundaries with participants and staff
- Represent CYALE positively in all community interactions
- Follow organizational policies and procedures
- Communicate respectfully with all community members
Reliability and Commitment
- Fulfill agreed-upon time commitments and responsibilities
- Provide advance notice for schedule changes or absences
- Complete required training and orientation sessions
- Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and activities
Mentorship and Support
- Provide positive guidance and support to participants
- Share skills and knowledge generously with others
- Model appropriate behavior and leadership qualities
- Respect confidentiality and privacy of participants
5. Community Member Responsibilities
Inclusive Environment
- Welcome new members and help them feel included
- Respect diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences
- Avoid discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behavior
- Create a safe space for open dialogue and learning
Community Contribution
- Participate in community events and activities
- Share feedback and suggestions for program improvement
- Help maintain CYALE facilities and resources
- Promote CYALE's mission within the wider community
6. Code of Conduct
Prohibited Behaviors
The following behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action:
- Any form of bullying, harassment, or discrimination
- Physical, verbal, or emotional abuse of any kind
- Theft, vandalism, or damage to property
- Use of illegal substances or alcohol during program activities
- Unauthorized use of CYALE equipment or facilities
- Sharing confidential information without permission
- Engaging in illegal activities while representing CYALE
Social Media and Online Conduct
- Represent CYALE positively on social media platforms
- Obtain permission before posting photos or videos of other members
- Respect privacy and confidentiality in online communications
- Report inappropriate online behavior to staff
- Follow CYALE's social media guidelines and policies
7. Communication Guidelines
Respectful Communication
- Communicate respectfully with all community members
- Listen actively and consider different perspectives
- Use appropriate language and tone in all interactions
- Address conflicts constructively and through proper channels
Feedback and Reporting
- Provide constructive feedback to help improve programs
- Report concerns or issues to appropriate staff members
- Participate in surveys and evaluation activities
- Respond to communications from CYALE staff in a timely manner

- Submit original work and give proper credit to sources
- Be truthful in all communications and representations
- Maintain honesty in applications and assessments
Professional Development
- Take responsibility for personal learning and growth
- Seek opportunities to develop new skills and knowledge

- Maintain professional standards in all activities
9. Consequences and Disciplinary Actions
Failure to meet these responsibilities may result in:
- Verbal warning and counseling
- Written warning and action plan
- Temporary suspension from program activities
- Loss of privileges or leadership positions
- Permanent removal from CYALE programs
- Legal action in cases of serious misconduct
All disciplinary actions will be handled fairly and consistently, with opportunities for appeal and reconciliation when appropriate.
10. Recognition and Rewards
Members who demonstrate exceptional commitment to these responsibilities may be recognized through:
- Certificates of achievement and completion
- Leadership opportunities and responsibilities
- Public recognition at events and ceremonies
- Letters of recommendation for future opportunities
- Special privileges and program benefits
